By "the same problem", do you mean that when you first edit a Z 6 raw file in Develop, it has a normal white balance, but when you apply a Develop preset (using the Presets panel on the left), the photos take on a magenta cast? If you mean something different, please provide details. If you indeed have 8.2 or later installed, the version 2 profiles get installed automatically.ģ. C amera profiles are different than a Develop presets, which appear in the Presets panel in the left column of Develop. White balance issue or color cast with Nikon Z6 raw file. By "downloading the new presets", do you mean you downloaded the version 2 profiles for the Z 6, as described here? Unfortunately, the CC updater fools many people into thinking they're on "the latest".Ģ. Do the menu command Help > System Info and copy paste the first ten lines here. To troubleshoot, we'll need more detail, using Adobe's terminology:ġ. I have the same problem in Lightroom CC 8.3 despite downloading the new presets and updating as default.

But I have a feeling it will affect both bodies. I haven't tested any of this on the Z7, just the Z6.

The Affinity output was noticeably softer when compared to the. I have Affinity Photo, but their exposure blending module is severely lacking terms of output compared to the module in LR6 (and presumably Photoshop as well). Or we can wait until preset makes adjust their presets to deal with this shortcoming. This is the reason why I use Affinity photo with DXO PhotoLab Elite. Until then I've had to rework my presets to deal with this problem. I'm sure Nikon and Adobe will point fingers at each other, and hopefully, sooner or later they figure it out. I don't know if Adobe has done a poor job implementing the RAW files for the Nikon Z6 or if Nikon changed the RAW file on the Z6 so much that it's responding differently. My guess is that it's how the profile is interacting with the RAW file.

I have a feeling it's more to do with presets that use some feature not found in the sliders and how it interacts with the Z6 RAW file. I believe the profile option gives you features you can't access through just the normal edit sliders. They created a profile called Camera Standard v2 that's used just for Nikon Z6.Ī lot of presets are now using this profile option (creating their own profiles) and I've noticed about a 1/3 of my presets are having the same issues as you.

Adobe release an update to address a major tint issue. So, I didn’t want to have a rather good body and wait another half decade until they come out with glass varieties I’d like and the question remains would I buy more of their rather high-priced stuff? To me the Z was worth a try, but not all experiments succeed. My current best guess at what's going on is something to do with Camera Presets (Under Treatment: Profile). Don’t you think there’s a reason why exotic combinations are no big need? Ok, Nikon still suffers of “not enough decent mirrorless glass” for their bodies, but well, you knew that before you bought a Z 6? I thought they’d come up quicker and with a bigger variety, but ball they can is more 50 mm and other double, triple, quadruple variations of the same FL range or doing a 100-400 which costs more than the costly 70-200/2.8 and converter. I pity the person who has to do these lens tests, there’s not much more boring work to do.Īlso, try to find your combinations in any other RAW-converter. And for sure the next question will be “why stop on Canon lenses?”, why not also Leica glass and Mamiya big size lenses, not to mention the amount of T/S lenses or Laowa’s “100% EXIF-free” inventions? And on one moment DxO needs to rent or buy a guarded warehouse to store all their inventory, together with all possible adapters. It will become an endless pool of possible body/lens scenarios.
